The Drifties--Regional awards in 2026
Honoring Exemplars in Four Categories
Sustainable Driftless will be celebrating individuals, businesses, and organizations that embody the best sustainability and conservation practices of the four-state Driftless Region. Sustainable Driftless has created an annual awards event to debut on April 25, 2026 during Earth Week.
Inspired by the work of co-founder, conservationist, and Driftless advocate, the late George Howe, one category will be the George Howe Legacy Award: Outstanding Educator
These categories will also be awarded:
- Outstanding Business
- Outstanding Nonprofit/Community
- Outstanding Land Management
Submissions will be sought and judged by an independent panel. Three finalists in each category will be recognized at an awards banquet, with cash prizes for all finalists plus a commemorative gift and bragging rights for the winner.
Online applications will be accepted in January of 2026. Check this website nearer the deadline for application criteria."
